I was born in a small village Cherry Hinton, close to Cambridge, England.
My early influences included John Mayall, Jimi Hendrix, Chicago, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Jeff Beck, Genesis, Soft Machine and Yes to name a few.
I played bass guitar in several small local bands in the Cambridge area, including 'The Waves' ('Walking on Sunshine' fame), 'Gentlemen', a progressive rock band that had a small but loyal following in the Cambridge and Manchester areas. 'Gentlemen' toured briefly in Europe, recorded several pieces of music, some of which were broadcast on national radio. We also appeared on a national tv show 'So It Goes' in 1977: https://youtu.be/u20ASGazUb4?si=V5DRx3lz-lOvONA5
The band disintegrated in 1977 after guitarist Rick Fenn moved on to bigger and better things with 10cc.
After emigrating to Canada in 1977, I played and toured regularly with Mike McKenna's Sidetrack (Mckenna-Mendleson Blues Band fame) and 'The Suspects' (Kenny Maclean of 'Platinum Blonde' fame). I moved to Prince Edward County near Belleville, Ontario in 1984 and have been in the area since then, operating a small recording studio for local artists and playing guitar and bass in many local bands since then. I continue to play locally and write and record original music.
